Our Kitchen Remodel
When we first walked into this house, the decor and furniture was so overwhelming. Everything felt too dark for my liking. However, I could easily see the possibility of what could be.
I knew I wanted white cabinets and I just had a feeling they would open up this space and change the feel of the whole house.
We decided hiring out a contractor would be the best idea for the cabinets since they already were a beautiful wood- I really didn’t want to mess them up and I wanted them to last a long time.
- FYI-when looking for any outside help, check out the app called Thumbtack! It was incredible. You simply post what you need help with(anything from yardwork to a massage) and businesses bid for your job. You thencan look at each business and see their reviews. The reviews totally helped me decide on who to go with. We found all we needed on this app!
The contractors removed all the doors, sprayed them outside and then hand painted the rest.
For the money, I think it was so worth it. The room is so open and fresh feeling, not to mention it feels like we gained more square footage as well!
While they were painting, I had them add a barn door effect to the ends of the island. I felt like the island was lacking so much character and it just looked useless. Now I think it makes the kitchen!
